Allergy Grocer takes a lot of pride in doing
the best job we can to keep you and your family safe when purchasing our products. 1. ALL products and ingredients are
regularly checked and updated online. Suppliers provide manufacturing and allergen statements in writing for
at the top 10 common allergens, and others we identify. They also provide confirmation of Kosher, Vegan, and Organic
certificates or documentation. Manufacturers inquires include identifying what is in their product (including traces or derivatives),
what is manufactured on the same line, same room, and in the same plant, and what their allergen policies are. Allergen testing is also questioned. These inquiries are made on a regular basis, and anytime a customer tells
us the information they received from the manufacturer conflicts with our online documentation. 2. Our dedicated facility is free of all
open forms of gluten, dairy, peanut, tree nut, egg, soy protein, shellfish, fish, sesame, and latex. Whenever possible,
we use ingredients from manufacturers that ONLY make that ONE ingredient (e.g. our rice flours come from manufacturers of
rice only products, cocoa supplier only makes cocoa, etc). We ONLY use ingredients for our Miss Roben's mixes and ingredients that are guaranteed free of ALL
forms of gluten, dairy, peanut, tree nut, egg, soy protein, shellfish, fish, sesame, and latex
or derivatives in both manufacturing, processing, and packaging. Except for corn meal or corn starch, ingredient or
derivatives must also be free of corn in manufacturing, processing, and packaging. With the exception of our tapioca
and potato starch all products are free of sulfites (we hope to locate sulfite-free tapioca and potato starch suppliers
that can provide the other allergen claims this year). All ingredients with the exception of our corn meal are also GMO-free.
We use latex-free, cornstarch free gloves in preparation. We wash after ANY change in ingredients when
preparing and packaging our mixes and ingredients to minimize risk of cross contact between ingredients. We use only
prepackaged yeast packets, and hand package our chocolate chips (that contain soy lecithin) in a separate room. We in-house test for the presence of gluten in
our mixes, and plan to do in house and independent out-of-house testing for peanut, tree nut, soy, and egg
in near future. The packaging materials we use are selected to
avoid corn, soy, and wheat products. This is the reason we do not use biodegradable packing nuts (these are corn based),
newspaper (soy ink), and other less costly packaging alternatives. 3. We manufacture our own mixes and fulfill
orders in our own warehouse to keep control of our products. All products we sell (ready made and ingredients)
are checked EACH TIME they arrive for ingredient or labeling changes. 4. We provide regular staff training for
all employees on allergen prevention and risks of cross contamination. No employee may bring any substances containing
peanuts or tree nuts into our facility, including the staff lunch room. Employees wear protective clothing while in
the mix room and preparation areas and remove these when in the lunch room. |
